Very good price-quality food with friendly staff. They were very patient and flexible taking our orders in 2 times since we had our 2 small kids with us. The Sushi Rise Bowl was fresh and delicious! Overall a perfect note.

The food was good, nice portions and my meal came with four different dishes.The service was attentive.Taking off my shoes before sitting was fun.

My 6 year old and I live very close by and go often. The service is friendly and the food is good and not too expensive. They have wild salmon as a sushi option which I appreciate. We love the miso soup, agedashi tofu, yam tempura and avocado rolls, and seaweed salad the most!

Two tiny pieces of salmon and minuscule amount of rice and bean sprouts for the salmon donburi for $18 (tips included). The waitress at first did not understand I wanted the miso soup so the take out did not come with it when it should have. I asked where's my miso soup. She came back telling me she asked and it cannot be exchanged with a salad. I told her I did not want a salad, I just wanted the miso soup that came with it. Quite annoying. I came home, ate and still quite hungry after spending $18 at this place.

Found a large metal staple and piece of plastic in my yam roll today. Won’t be back!

Overpriced and overrated. They seem too busy with takeout orders to pay proper attention to in-house diners. We had to go get our own menus, flag someone over to order, our tea was never refilled, and over 15 minute wait to get our bill. The worst part, the food wasn't even worth the wait, nor the price. It's mediocre fare that you can easily find for much cheaper near any transit hub.

Love this place. This is my 'go-to' sushi place for my family whenever we visit Vancouver. Tasty food, attentive service, never had a bad experience. We will be coming back again. Keep up the good work!

Went there twice and both times the food was excellent and inexpensive. Nice ambiance and great location as well.

This is our favourite Japanese restaurant in town!! We just happened to stroll upon it! Service, prices and food are fantastic!! Extremely affordable and the quality far exceeds the prices!! We cannot wait to come back here!!!

Stay in, don’t take out. Second time we did this and should have learned from our mistake the first time. We were quoted 30-40 minute wait time and ended up waiting over an hour for our take out meal. They seem apologetic but quickly take your payment then tell you it will be another 15 minutes. Only reason leaving 3 stars is at least the sushi is damn good.

This restaurant has been in the neighborhood for a number of years and recently renovated, but the quality of the food leaves much to be desired.

Came here for lunch and got the aburi lunch set. Fish was fresh, service was good, and sushi was made well.

Nice sushi..Good place to visit

Got takeout for the beach. We waited a long time, about 50 min for our order of 4 rolls. We got the salmon oshi, negitoro roll, sugoi roll, and a special roll wrapped in omelette (forget the name). Portions were good but the food didn't taste especially fresh or good. It wasn't horrible but would probably try another place next time.

I enjoy going to Hi-Nippon Japanese restaurant, I always order the grilled meats and seafood, like this Salmon Teriyaki on a bed of bean sprouts, over a sizzling iron plate! as it is a meal, comes with miso soup, rice and salad. The prices are good especially for lunch time! They renovated lights and chairs!

I love this place so much. The staff is so kind; they always recognize my boyfriend and I when we come in and are extremely friendly. I really like their booths and that the staff brings you green tea when you sit down. The sushi is ridiculously cheap and great quality. Admittedly, I'm vegetarian so I can't speak much to the quality of the non-vegetarian options, however I've brought many non-vegetarian friends here and they are always happy with their orders. Some people on here have complained about the service, and while it can be slow sometimes, I usually don't have much of a problem with it. This is definitely my favourite sushi place in Kits.

$15.95 for Salmon Saahi and it's portion size is small compared to a couple my favorite sushi spots in East Van & Burnaby. With that said, the restaurant is clean and the service was respectable.

Ordered the maki combo B and the caterpillar roll and it was one of the best deals for sushi. The place is cozy and smells like a proper Japanese restoraunt without being too pretentious. Choice of music was a very safe jazz playlist. The salmon maki (that was part of the maki combo B was generous in portion just like the avocado on the caterpillar roll. Everything was good, and free ocha (tea) was served. However, it would be great if they uploaded a menu and updated the one they have in zomato. Excellent experience: tasty fish (Salmon and Mackarel), nice rolls. Well worth the price of $115 (with tax and tip) for three adults and two kids.

Good quality sushi for the price. Any of the flame seared rolls are amazing.

Happened upon this place and it was around 2pm so it wasnt crowded. Tables were spaced out. The server was very attentive and respectful. We ordered the tonkatsu platter and the chicken teriyaki bento platter. It was an excellent deal and so much food. Well worth it. The food was good, the tonkatsu pork cutlet was a touch dry but crunchy and delicious which was enhanced by the tonkatsu sauce. My wife loved the bento and she said every bit was delicious and fresh. Good place!! Arigato Goisamasu Hi-Nippon.

Good service, good food. I had the seafood salad, and the Love Roll. Everything very good, reasonable price.

They're okay - rarely say this but worth it ordering from Doordash or something rather than them. My order would have been $16 on Doordash but I called them so the money would go to them - they charged me $22. The sushi was fine, spicy mayo was just spicy sauce I added my own mayo to. Would go again for a cheap and cheerful Kits lunch if I was nearby, but there's definitely better sushi.

This has become a regular. The normal rolls are enormously good value but the specialty rolls are also pretty awesome. The staff are very sweet and attentive - always so polite. Eat in, takeaway or delivery - they're all good! Favourite: Alaska or California roll.

Good value for set lunch bento. I had the spicy tuna combo and I would have preferred the tuna to be seasoned in the spicy sauce instead of serving it with the spicy sauce on top of it. I will be happy to try other bentos in the future.

It's the second time we go there. We tried the sushi and we also tried teriyaki. None of the food was good. The sauces were used to hide the lack of taste. The Fish didn't feel fresh.

I would say this is a case of three strikes and you’re out. Today was the third time that the horrible service forgot to put in my order. I totally get that this kind of stuff happens so the first couple times I was like OK they’re busy, but three times is just too many. And honestly? The sushi isn’t even good. There are way better places. Hire better people.

Nice rolls, good price but slow service

The place itself is nice enough but the service on my visit seemed lacking which was odd since it wasn't full or seemed that busy.The food itself was fine as i ordered a udon soup and some spicy tuna rolls, maybe it's just me but the udon seemed to be pretty bland ( but then again perhaps i've been spoiled by ramen in other places ) Prices seem to be average for most sushi places and the overall selection for food seems pretty good.Not too bad if you happen to be in the area and want some decent sushi

Easily missed little gem on W 4th! Great variety of cooked dishes, chirashi rice bowls and sushi including a selection of aburi! Clean, comfortable, friendly service. Can’t wait to try their famous happy hour 16-pc California roll for $6.95!

Very good rolls and tempura. Sauces were not too sweet and loved the agadashi tofu. The restaurant was well designed with lots of booths (with movable barriers, which was cool). Servers were very professional and showed up at just the right time. 🍣

Recommended friends come here coz of 4/5 rating and good reviews but found loud elevator music, people yelling above the music, rips in bench cushions, track lighting in my eyes, weird sushi rolls (lobster roll didn't seem to have lobster), and waitress who got easily exasperated when we reminded her that we still hadn't received one of our ordered dishes. It actually felt a bit hellish.

The best sushi ever!!! I love love love this place especially sitting without shoes in a booth! Thank you for having us over and over again:)
